Sue Riley is CEO of NACE. She has twenty years’ experience in the education and charity fields, gained working predominantly with young people aged 5-25 on a wide range of programmes designed to raise confidence and aspirations and help to level the playing field for all. Sue has worked both in and with schools and colleges and led the development of a range of services including a Matrix accredited careers service, pre-neet and neet programmes, practical sessions for more able learners, financial capability, the 14-19 diploma and regional peer-mentoring. She has also spent time as an independent consultant reviewing adult education and re-integration into the labour market.
Before joining NACE, Sue worked most recently with business, developing a network of 700 organisations that supported a range of practical employability initiatives to equip young people for the world of work.
Sue’s grant and fundraising experience have seen her develop and deliver projects for a range of organisations including DfE, SFA, DH, Erasmus, LEPs, HEFCE and The Big Lottery. Her work on public affairs and marketing at charity WRVS saw her work with the Welsh Government.
Sue recognises the value of partnership working and welcomes discussion with schools, colleges, charities, business and others who wish to collaborate in the education of able, gifted and talented children.
